You could be severely penalised for operating unlicensed as a travel agent.

Penalties

If you work unlicensed as a travel agent, you can be penalised up to $110 000.

Cancelled licences

If you hold a current licence and are found guilty of a disqualifying offence, we will ask you to show cause for why we should not cancel your licence.

You can also be asked to show cause if you do not have sufficient financial resources to carry on business as a travel agent, or have stopped carrying on business as travel agent for more than one month.

If you receive notification from the Travel Compensation Fund that your membership is to be terminated, your licence will be suspended from that date. Upon termination of your membership, your licence will be cancelled and you must return your original licence to us.

If you voluntarily withdraw your membership with the Travel Compensation Fund, your licence will be automatically surrendered and you must return your original licence to us.
