Toys removed from sale - Christmas toy blitz 2011 |
Each year the Office of Fair Trading conducts a pre-Christmas toy safety blitz to find and remove unsafe toys from shelves so they don´t wind up under Christmas trees.
Product safety officers have visited more than 350 stores state-wide from September to December this year in the search for unsafe toys. Ninety-one different toys have been removed from sale either because they failed to meet safety standards or have been banned from sale. The below toys have been removed from sale due to breaches of Australian safety standards. A further nineteen products were removed from sale and are currently being laboratory tested for breaches of various standards. These products will be named if they are found to be unsafe.
If you have seen the toys below for sale - please contact the Product Safety Unit immediately on 3008 5983 or safety@deedi.qld.gov.au. If you have purchased an unsafe toy you can return the toy to the store for a refund or dispose of the toy immediately.
