
Replacement certificates |
You can get a replacement of your business name certificate if it is lost or destroyed.
A replacement business name certificate can only be purchased by:
- the proprietor of the business name
- an individual with the written authority of the proprietor
- the legal representative of the proprietor with a written authority from the law firm
- in the case of a company, a person who holds a position of signatory, such as a Director or company secretary.
You can request a replacement certificate either in person at one of our offices or in writing to our Registration Services branch.
The replacement certificate shows the current registered details.
Processing times
- Up to 2 hours - in person at a Fair Trading counter
- Approximately 2 hours - in person at SmartLicence or call 1300 363 711 for regional locations
- 5-10 working days - by mail or fax to Registration Services
- Up to 5 working days - mail to SmartLicence
- At least 10 working days - in person at a Magistrates Court or QGAP office
