Renew a licence
We send you a renewal form before the expiry date. You can use this form to renew your licence up to the expiry date.
To renew your licence:
- complete the renewal form
- state the term of the licence being applied for
- state the names and addresses of the licensee´s business associates
- check the details on your renewal form are correct
- pay the renewal fee:
- individuals: $59.00 for one year or $1634.00 for three years
- corporations: $334.00 for one year or $869.00 for three years
- pay the criminal history check fee of $38.40
- lodge the renewal form (see the form for lodgement details).
To renew a corporate licence you also need an audit report for all trust accounts, or a statutory declaration that you didn´t operate a trust account, during the relevant period.
Restore a licence
After the expiry date, but within three months, you can pay a late fee and we will restore your licence.
We send a restoration notice to your postal address after your licence expires. If you are unsure when your licence expires, please ask us.
If you restore your licence after it expires but within three months, you will have to pay late fees.
To restore your licence:
- complete the restoration form
- state the term of the licence being applied for
- state the names and addresses of the licensee´s business associates
- check the details on your restoration form are correct
- pay the restoration fee (which includes the $92.00 late fee):
- individuals: $681.00 for one year or $1726.00 for three years
- corporations: $426.00 for one year or $961.00 for three years
- pay the criminal history check fee of $38.40
- lodge the restoration form (see the form for lodgement details).
The restoration notice must also be accompanied by an audit report for all trust accounts held by the licensee during the relevant audit period, or a statutory declaration stating that you did not operate a trust account during the relevant audit period.
Lapsed licences
If your licence lapses (i.e. more than three months after it expires), you will be unlicensed between the expiry date of the original licence and the date we issue your new licence.
You will need to lodge a new application to reapply for your licence.
It is an offence to operate while unlicensed.
Processing
Processing time is 4-6 weeks from lodgement. However, it can take longer if we need to contact you for missing information or fees, such as criminal history check fees.
If we ask you for extra information and you do not provide it, we may withdraw your application.
Your licence is valid while we process your application.
