Up to six weeks before the renewal date, we automatically send a renewal form to your registered postal address. You can renew your business name for one or three years.

Renew your business name over the phone

You can pay your business name renewal fees over the phone. If you do so, you will not need to return your renewal form to us. The phone pay service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 1300 134 326.

To use this service, you will need:

Keep a record of the date and receipt number for future reference and as confirmation of your renewal.

Renewal fees

1 year renewal: $72.00
3 year renewal: $195.00

Late fees

Late fee for renewal up to 1 month late: $15.50
Late fee for renewal more than 1 month late: $ 46.00

Renewing your business name early

We do not send out early renewal notices. If you will be away and cannot lodge your renewal form, you must make your own arrangements.

Making changes to details

If you need to make changes to your business' postal address, the nature of your business, email address or an owner’s residential address, make these changes on the renewal form.

We do not charge fees for these changes. We do not issue a new certificate of registration when you renew.

If you do not immediately notify us of a change in postal address, you may not receive the renewal notice.

To make major changes, you must lodge Business Names Act Form 4 - Statement of change in certain particulars form (PDF 454 KB), including changes in:
