Objections to registration of a charity |
Anyone may lodge an objection with us to the registration of a charity. The grounds that they may do so on are:
- it is not a charity
- it is not established in good faith as a charity
- its objectives are currently covered by an existing registered charity
- it will not be properly administered
- an inappropriate person is associated with the charity’s management.
To lodge an objection
If an objection is made, we will give the applicant written notice on whether the objection has been accepted or rejected. To lodge an objection:
- complete Collections Form 3 - Objection to registration (PDF, 212 KB)
- attach evidence that a copy of the objection has been served on the organisation
- lodge the form with us (see form for lodgement details).
