Contract of sale
The document is a legal contract agreeing to the sale of a property between you and the seller.

Pay the deposit
The deposit formalises your offer. Paying a deposit does not guarantee the property is yours.

Cooling-off period
Residential property contracts have a five day cooling-off period.

Home and contents insurance
Take out property/building insurance from the day of signing the contract. You should also consider taking out contents insurance.

Inspections
Inspections of the property will help you identify any problems with the home.
