Lodge a complaint about product measurement |
If you believe you have been overcharged for a product, or that it was overweighed, you can make a complaint with us.
We monitor the way traders weigh and measure products in the Queensland marketplace to protect consumers.
However, we can only investigate your complaint after you have tried to resolve it with the business first.
What you need
Your complaint must be about a Queensland trader.
Your complaint must contain information about:
- your contact details
- who the trader is and their specific details
- the facts about the transaction, including where and how the sale took place, location of the scales and the service station number
- copies of supporting evidence, such as receipts, contracts or correspondence.
How to lodge your complaint
Depending on what your complaint is about, you will need to lodge one of the following:
- if you believe you have been overcharged for a product, use our online complaint form or complete the Fair Trading complaint form (PDF, 219 KB)
- if you believe a product has been incorrectly weighed, complete the Weights and Measures complaint form (PDF, 134KB).
After you lodge your complaint
See our complaint handling process.
