Ceiling insulation rebates

The former Commonwealth Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts announced the discontinuation of the Home Insulation Program effective close of business Friday 19 February 2010.

Following the Machinery of Government changes announced on 8 March 2010, responsibility for the program and other energy efficiency programs was transferred to the new Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency.

If, as a house holder, you are unsure whether the insulation in your ceiling has been installed correctly, you should seek clarification from the installer. If you have electrical safety concerns, visit the Electrical Safety Office website.

If you are unhappy with the response of the installer to your concerns, you can lodge a complaint with us or make a claim with the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

New rebate scheme

The Commonwealth Government has advised that the insulation component of the Renewable Energy Bonus Scheme will not proceed. For more information, visit the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency website.
