Australian Kitchen Industries administration |
Kitchen manufacturer and designer, Australian Kitchen Industries Pty Ltd (AKI) has entered into voluntary administration. AKI has 20 stores across Australia and operates under the brand Kitchen Connection in Queensland.
HLB Mann Judd has been appointed as administrator and released a statement advising that the business is continuing to operate as usual - manufacturing and delivering kitchens to consumers. The administrator has advised that:
- All new customer deposits are being held in an account managed by the administrator and that the manufacturing and installation of kitchens will be performed as per the contract
- Customers who are concerned about their orders should contact their technical services consultant for an update
- Customers who have appointed their own tradesperson to install the kitchen should continue to deal directly with that tradesperson.
It is the view of the ACCC that any new customers who chose to purchase a kitchen from an AKI business should be informed about the current administration arrangements. Should issues of supply arise in the future, customers that paid a deposit using a credit card may have charge back rights and they should contact their credit card provider to find out more.
For further details or to register their interest, creditors are advised to contact the administrator. More information about consumer protection issues and insolvency is available on the ASIC and ACCC websites.
